Can I open the garage with Alexa or Google Home?
Genie lists Aladdin Connect integrations for Alexa and Google Home/Assistant, including opening and closing. Your compatible accounts must be linked. Opening uses the platform’s security checks, including a PIN where required. Alexa requires a PIN for opening and does not allow garage doors in Alexa routines. We demonstrate the supported controls during setup.
Will this work with my phone and garage Wi-Fi?
We confirm that your phone supports the current Aladdin Connect app and check that a reliable Wi-Fi signal reaches the garage. App access, alerts and voice control require compatible accounts and a working internet connection.
Can you make my existing opener smart instead?
Possibly. Genie also offers Aladdin Connect retrofit options for compatible existing openers. Tell us the make and model of your current unit, or send a photo, and we will explain whether a retrofit or replacement makes sense.
What happens if the power or internet goes out?
The G3120HL-B includes battery backup for opener operation during a power outage. Internet-dependent app and voice features need connectivity. We show you the ordinary wall control, remotes and manual-release procedure as part of the installation walkthrough.
